Terms of service

Plain English, no traps. The two sentences that matter most: your records are always yours, and Tempd is a record-keeping tool, not a substitute for your own food safety obligations.

The agreement

By creating a Tempd account you agree to these terms. Tempd is offered to businesses: by signing up you confirm you’re using it for a business, not as a consumer.

What Tempd is (and isn’t)

Tempd is a digital record-keeping tool for food safety logs (temperatures, cleaning, deliveries, incidents and corrective actions) built around the conventions of Standard 3.2.2A. It is not a certification, audit or compliance guarantee, and it doesn’t replace your food safety supervisor or your own legal obligations. You’re responsible for taking accurate readings and acting on failures; Tempd makes recording them fast and keeping them tidy.

Your account

One account per business, signed in by email link. Staff initials and PINs inside the app attribute entries to people; they’re an accountability feature, not separate user accounts. Keep access to your sign-in email secure; anyone with it can access your account.

Trial, billing, cancelling

  • Every account starts with a 14-day free trial. No card required.
  • Paid plans are billed in AUD by Stripe, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. You can cancel any time from the billing portal, and you keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
  • If your subscription ends or a payment fails, your account becomes read-only: you can view everything, generate reports and export CSV. You just can’t add new entries. We never delete your records because you stopped paying.

Your data

Your records belong to you. CSV export is available on every plan state, always. We store and process your data as described in our privacy policy. Amended entries keep their history (the original is preserved alongside the correction); that’s what makes the records audit-worthy.

Fair use

Don’t use Tempd to fabricate records, to break the law, or to probe or disrupt the service. We can suspend accounts doing any of those, with your data still exportable unless the law says otherwise.

Liability

We work hard to keep Tempd fast, accurate and available; offline logging exists precisely so a network outage never costs you a record. But to the extent the law allows, Tempd is provided “as is”, our liability is capped at the amount you’ve paid us in the last 12 months, and we’re not liable for indirect losses, including the outcome of any inspection or enforcement action. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that can’t be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.

Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. If a change meaningfully affects you, we’ll email you before it takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
